Booster Rocket - Out of the Unknown

This is the very first example of Spacex II which came into my hands, courtesy of my old schoolfriend, who got it as a birthday gift for me. Again, it was the early seventies and until I actually had it in my hand, I wouldn't believe it existed. Since then, I have seen two others, one which I got from my mate and a third in the collection of Will Osborne.

Once more, I got overenthusiastic with the Humbrol, painting the fuselage black. A beautifully designed model, combining the unusual bulky shape of the original design, with a chunky, powerful looking engine and heavier shuttle, than its Sword brother.

FUEL'S GOLD: THE SPACEX II BOOSTER ROCKET

Once again a gorgeous SpaceX II toy and once again its not mine: the Booster Rocket. I never had one as a nipper. This lovely loose example is Bill's. The card is in the classic S2 silver, purple and white livery.

Made by Pippin Rovex Triang, its a perfectly scaled-down replica of its larger C21 cousin. Rocket, the red and silver colours go together so well. A similar colour scheme was used for the Nuclear Ferry as well, which I'll post soon.

SWORD WARS: The Last Battle. A Poem.

The dogs of war are baying in the sward.
God Almighty, Casuals raise your spattered standard one last time!
For we, the Rejects, will follow to the halls of Hell,
The clash of falchions will split our drums as we rout the scourge called Project SWORD.

Halberds high, our banners eeling in the shine,
This Earth is ours and for the love of it we will break our mortal backs,
So yes, their Scramble Bugs may crush our SpaceX MEVs,
But no Probe Force Fleet shall forsake our World and leave our souls behind.

THREES COMPANY: GOLDEN ASTRONAUT AND AVIONES COSMICOS TRIPLE PACKS

The American Golden Astronaut Triple packs by Multiple Toymakers are things of beauty for sure. I've only ever seen photo's of them and here are some I've archived over the years from auction sites. 

The pictures above show the same Moon Exploration set but with the Moon Bus colours reversed in each.

The pair above show two Interplanetary Patrol packs with, this time, the colours of the Nuclear Freighter reversed.

I don't know if there were more GA triple packs. I don't think SpaceX released any, although Bullycan of Spain sold at least two packs of three Spacex knockoffs on carded blisters called Aviones Cosmicos, shown below. Note the different colours. The Nuclear Freighter appears in both the American and Spanush tri-packs. I'm unsure if there are any more different Bullycan ones.
