HOMO SUPER SAPIENS AND RECONNAISSANCE 2

This book cover caught my eye. The spaceship illustration is a deadringer for the Tri-ang SpaceX Reconnaissance 2* toy!

It seems to zooming past Christopher Lee and a head-louse!

The book is by the prolific Peter Kapra and is number 47 in the old Spanish El Mundo Futuro series. Maybe you've read it?

Have you spotted any toys on book covers?

*It's not t the first outing on a cover for this model either or at least part of it. The actual toy's upturned baseplate is attached to a SpaceX Nova and graces the cover of Michael Moorcock's Black Corridor, as reported here nearly 10 years ago

With improvements in remote sensing probes, Spacex decides to dispose of some of its fleet of Reconnaissance R2 craft. 

One is purchased by the Royal Air Force. 

With its stardrive removed, the craft makes an ideal training vehicle for high altitude flying.

i spy with my little eye little spy planes

I've always liked the SpaceX Reconnaissance 2, the small one pictured below 

[larger one above was scratchbiult by Kevin D]

Its such a classic spy plane design that its easy to spot similar toy planes online.

I had to look twice though when I saw this.

I had thought it was a small SpaceX!

Turns out its a Micro Machines miniature by Galoob. I love the SpaceXy colour scheme!
