A superb looking craft by OK toys, it's wireless controlled. I'd have loved it as a kid. The box art alone would have done it!

kodama Flying Saucer Disco Voador Júpiter 7 Semi Desmontável Década de 1970

I like this Brazilian toy saucer. It's by Electronica Kodama. There's something almost Moon Prospectorish about this coloured discs.

THE CABiN REVOLVES!

Beside the ever-gorgeous Space Glider in this auction shot is the fab box art of the Space Surveyor X-12. Not a toy I know at all but I adore that artwork. The astronaut is looking through a telescope!

Its even got a squirmy alien in the doorway - one we've seen before courtesy of Wotan Bill.

RAINBOW-1 is a spaceship satellite I don't know.

I really like the colourful and glitzy photo box top.

K's Flying Saucer has to be result of a baroque bender in bars near Versailles!

Like a space gateau, its a saucer-full full of gold looking for a Chateau.

Unbelievably the box says CAUTION: Not Recommended for Children!

These two spaceships caught my eye online.

They originally contained sweets of some sort in the dome.

They could be modern or quite old, its hard to say.

Made in Hong Kong.

Anyone recognise them?

MYSTERIES IN THE BLISTER: UFO RACK TOY SETS

 I've blogged these before.

I've still only ever seen them online,

UFO, Mysteries of the Universe and Visitors from Outer Space.

Like a Sci-Fi Polly Pocket, these plastic flying saucers come with a gaggle of aliens and a gadget or two.

A classic rack toy, these sets were made with love.

As a kid I would have adored them.

Just look at the maggoty alien babies inside the one below! How great!

The use of NAZCA symbols and ancient wonders on the card back just make them even more interesting for budding Ufologists. I mean how many toys have a NAZCA spider on them?

If it was the Sixties LP would snapped them up but these are from the 80's or 90's and appear to be unbranded.

Anyone know the maker and the date?

The saucers open up like flowers on Mars and away you go.

Closed up they're a neat domed UFO that probably fits in the pocket.

There were three different saucer sets and all made in China. I cannot see a brand name.

Anyone remember these?

This toy spaceship on auction in Spain caught my eye.  The blue and yellow scheme is really effective.

The design looks familiar.

CHEE HANG SAUCER

I agree with the author of this description on Alphadrome, the box art of the Chee Hang Space Saucer is indeed reminiscent of the JR21 New Flying Saucer box art. Years ago when I first saw this toy online I had wondered if it was actually JR21. Do you like it?

SPANISH FLYING SAUCER TOYS: NAVE ESPACIAL

This is a lovely old flying saucer toy I saw on Spain's Todocollecion, the Nave Espacial by Kuxan

I really like the box art.

The overall look reminds me of the New Flying Saucer, which JR21 released.

The base recalls the Project SWORD Moon Prospector and the New flying Saucer too.

A Familiar Alien

Hi

I came across this tinplate and plastic Spacecraft Ranger toy with magic orbit-track on Ebay. It is made by Alps of Japan. 

The box says Battery Powered, Automatic Shuttling, Use 2 "AA" Penlite Batteries. Looks to be 1960s or 1970s - tinplate is not my area. My first thought was that the flying saucer looked very familiar. 

It is clearly based on the famous Lindberg Flying Saucer or UFO kit that goes all the way back to 1954. This has also been issued by Glencoe and Atlantis. The engines have been made a lot bigger. 

The Alien pilot has been changed over to a racing car driver wearing an open-faced helmet, but it is still recognisable.

ULYSSES 31 SAUCER

 

I saw this on Spain's Todocollecion. I'm unsure if its just a flying saucer or a spinning top.

The graphics relate to Ulysses 31, which is a TV show I don't know.

Plan 9 From Outer Space Flying Saucer

Hi all,

Flying Saucer time. Let us start at the beginning, in 1954 US model company Lindberg released a plastic kit of a Flying Saucer. Some of these kits were used by low-budget film maker Edward D. Wood Jr to represent the alien spacecraft in his masterpiece, Plan 9 From Outer Space, originally called Grave Robbers From Outer Space. 

Some have claimed this is the worst film ever made. In my opinion, this is not true, and the movie is certainly fun. It stared Bela Lugosi, who managed to appear a few years after his death, thanks to the use of old footage, shot for another film. 

Also, Vampira and Tor Johnson, who have been modelled in HO scale by Noch, in their Vampire and Zombie sets. The Lindberg kits were modified somewhat for filming, with the engine nacelles being omitted, and the transparent dome in the centre being painted over.

This kit has been re-issued a few times over the years. This Polar Lights version dates from 2019, according to the site Scalemates, which covers the family tree of various kits. 

It has been issued as the Plan 9 From Outer Space version, with great box art, and stills from the movie on the box sides. It is described as A Bizarrely Authentic Scale Model Flying Saucer.

Hello Woodsy,

One of the nutty things about cable TV are stations that have programs where a single thought is talked about over and over for an hour a show and nothing factual is actually revealed. 

They have six or so experts saying the same thing in the form of a question over and over. 

One such is about Aliens and Flying Saucers. Every so often the theory about the Nazi 'Bell' surfaces all based about a thought backed by not a shred of proof.

The idea occurred to me now that we're all 'locked down' that what if the movie The Day the Earth Stood Still had a different setting.

What if instead of the 1950's in Washington DC in the US it was England in the 1940's?

What if instead of Klaatu it was the Red Skull?

What if instead of "Klaatu barada nikto" it was 

..... "For you the war is over!"

PLAYART SPACE SHIP WITH FLYING ASTRO

This is an interesting vintage space toy.

I saw it on Ebay and have archived the images from a while ago.

It's part of that sub-genre of floating balls toys.

I do like the look of it.

PASS ME A SAUCER

I like this vintage Tandy flying saucer I saw on an online auction.

Its a radio!  You turn the clear dome to tune it! Made in Korea and very neat by the looks of it!

Radio and space toy seems the perfect marriage to me. Where there any more I wonder?

For some reason this Tandy beauty also reminds me of that other handsome Saucer of Japanese origin, Billy Blastoff's.

Mysterious Flying Saucer

I recently acquired this rather nice bump ‘n’ go flying saucer toy.

Here it is landing in my back garden!

I've seen examples of this toy quite a few times on several auction sites but so far I’ve not seen anyone give the makers name.

Generally it seems to be referred to as a NASA flying saucer presumably because of the NASA logo sticker on it.

It's around 5" across and the only markings on it are ‘Made in Hong Kong’ and ‘T29’. 

Has anyone else got one of these with maybe it’s original box or packaging?

Any info on it would be most welcome.
