Spanish Saucers: UFO Invasions

Old Spanish UFO videos are fun to look at. The covers are brilliant.

This one features a ginormous rifle!

I love the car on the rear of this one.

This one's got everything going on on the cover and interestingly it's in V2000 format, shaped like a sort of huge audio cassette.

The Train in Spain

A while back I came across this cool Combat Man train set with Action Man style branding.

I was struck how great it looked in its box and no doubt attractive to kids in the toy shop.

Well I found a similarly handsome boxed set on Todocollecion so I saved the pics.

The Spanish Tren Nocturno.

I love the wet night box art!

I was surprised the trains weren't black like they are on the cover.

Have you any interesting boxed sets like these?

Jefe Ovni: Spanish Saucer

Jefe's OVNI.

It's boss!

What glorious box art!

The cake-like flying saucer is unusual too. It's got covered torpedo silos!

Unidentified Flying Ovnis

There's a whole flotilla of OVNI toys and here's another one all new to me, a beautiful set with a gorgeous conical capsule reminiscent of the Invaders UFO:

Los Ovnis.

Have you got an OVNI?

You can see more of where these images came from here.

Comansi Thunderbirds: El Alunizaje!

Ive always admired this Spanish set.

The plastic moons ape recalls Ed's scratchbuilt diorama and the neon figures are brilliant.

A set I've never seen in the flesh, only surpassed by the phenomenal Trol island.

Do you have any Comansi toys?

Equipo Astronauta! Cor!

Wow, I would have loved this as a nipper.

What a dial-bristling space apron for a Commandant!

The box arts fab too!

I reckon there's more sets like this.

Those lucky Spanish kids!

Paya's Lunar Lab

This Spanish lunar lab mobile is just out of this world.

By Paya.

Theres lots of cool details.

I love this fella watching telly!

The four tyre wheels are superb.

And to top it off, it's remote controlled.

Viva Billy Blastoff

I love this old Spanish catalogue ad for the Payva clone of Billy Blastoff. It may even be a licensed issue and not a clone.

Lily Lledy did something similar in Mexico.

Have you any Billy Blastoff or knockoffs?

Is that Greedo?

This simple Spanish pistola espacial has super card art. There's craters, saucers and planets.

And is that Greedo holding the gun?

And that big red S. Good old Shambers!

O Ráio Laser: The Rays in Spain

I love the box art on this Estrela made board game, o raio Laser, which I guess means Laser Beam.

The game itself looks pretty basic but the art is where it's happening. A space jet, a Gemini and a flower pot laser canon.

Mystery Spanish SpaceX

Being a fan of knockoff SpaceX toys I was intrigued by two which appeared on Spain's Todocollecion.

I'm used to seeing Bullycan's Aviones Cosmicos there but the seller thought the pair maybe another vintage Spanish brand well-known for simple plastic toys, namely Montaplex.

All my Aviones Cosmicos is in storage so I can't really compare them to the pictures.

See what you think, images from Todocollecion.

Capsula Spacial

This is a neat tin Spanish space capsule toy. Again by the mighty Jyesa.

I love the box art. The flying spacecraft is wonderful.

Did you have a capsule readers?

Godspeed Artemis II.

Spanish toy Arsenal

Like Jefe's harpoon last month here's a similar hilted tinplate toy pistol, the Aviador with a big missile.

This is an odd bit of card art showing a 60's style Soulet boy brandishing an FBI snub-nosed. I guess it's meant to be hippiedom, the Agente Federal.

Finally this Agente Zero's big scope recalls the huge unit on the Man from Uncle toy rifle. Rather than an Agents toy rifle, the stick depicts a gazelle!

Four Wheels Good

This is a gorgeous toy by Jyesa, the Vehiculo Espacial.

A classic design, there's a Japanese original too.

Anyone got one?

Super Sideral Robo Gear

 This an amazing Spanish

 robot space costume for kids.

The helmet is terrific!

It looks familiar.

The dart visor is a separate toy too ...

... The Videolaser.

Not sure this arm is connected but I threw it in anyway, as it's very roboty!

Anyone seen this set before?

Jefe's Pistola Submarina

 I'm in love!

It's a Spanish metal toy harpoon gun!

 Seen in Todocollecion.

I don't think I've ever seen anything as beautiful!

James Bond's harpoon is paella!
