DO YOU DREAM ABOUT COLLECTABLES?

Dozing in bed this morning with the fog rolling in I was busy dreaming.

The dream was about going to a remote house with some out buildings. I went with a group of people I knew in the dream but don't now. Why we were there I can't say but it could have been to do some work. Anyways, I walked into a room and it was choc-full of big box VHS videos, my idea of treasure! They were piled high on a table and there was also a shelf, on which bagged video sets were stood. I think one was the old TV animation Trap Door. Just as I was totting up how much I would offer for the whole lot the owners walked in and went mad at me for the muddy boot-prints I'd left on the carpet. At that moment one of my group shouted for us all to return to the bus straight away and that was that. The dream ended with me trying to scramble up a steep bank full of flowers to get to the vehicle.

I woke up more or less straight away and I think that's why I can remember it, which is unusual for me. Not sure what it all means but I do like big box VHS videos!

SPACE FLIGHT TO THE MOON

Dear Woodsy

Your post on the marvelous Eldon 3-D Scenic kits made me think of this set of Quaker Oats "Space Flight to the Moon" cereal premiums from 1953. Each size of a postcard and built up as a three-dimensional diorama, for me they represent the best of 1950's space graphics. For someone with an affection for pop-up books, there's that dimension as well.

The dioramas have undergone a bit of a "space warp" under the years, but are all still complete. The original owner even saw the trouble of cutting explanatory texts from the side of the cereal packet and gluing them to each frame.
