FUNNY MEN AGAIN

This De Speelgoedkrant toy catalogue from the 1970's features some figures that from time to time pop up here on MC, usually at the hands of Bill and Paul V.

This Dutch catalogue featured on the Boonsart sales site is great.

Funny Men are a design classic and you can just about see a boxed set with a horse in the bottom left corner. This set, 208 in the catalogue, is by MORO I think and is listed as something like PAARD MORO at the side.

FIVE FUNNY MEN AGAIN

 Sometimes I spot things I haven't seen for ages.

Years ago we had a brush with Five Funny Men and blog friend Paul Vreede wrote a great article on MB.

Well browsing Spain's Todocollecion I saw this Juguetes 73 [Toys 73] catalogue.

Inside were, well, those Five Funny Men again.

You can see them here on the right, at least three different sets of the plastic outstretched fellows.

Did you have or do you have any Five Funny Men.

ARE POPPLE PEOPLE PATIENT ZERO?

The other day I posted the set of plastic people and a rocket made by Hover, those erstwhile Project SWORD cloners.

Hover are not well known for originality and here's a similar set by the much better known American company Multiple Toymakers - those Golden Astronaut boys - called Popple People. Were these the source? Or was it Funny Men?

Here we have knights and a circus from 1970 as featured on t'eBay.

I wonder if they released a space version of this? Anyone know?

The box art shows what's possible, plastic men and a rocket.

The contents comprise of Funny Men style plastic body parts and a wheeled silver rocket.
