SUPPLYING THE SECRET ARMY

Galoob's Secret Army Supplies is a line I've only just become aware of.

Here's a catalogue page showing off the old range.

I happened to bag one of these toys this summer at a car boot. It's labeled 'C' on the page above, the Searchlight/ Air Defense.

Minus any troops or vehicles, here's my loose Searchlight. What do you think of this range readers?

On the Stomper version of the Flex the tires do not split. Same with the Stomper version of the Animal, the claws are always out.

Galoob made large versions of the Flex and Animal where the tires reacted. If the Flex ran into an obstacle, the hubs moved in and made the tires balloon out so it could go over it

The Animal had 'hidden' claws that would come out (3 per each tire) when it encountered difficulty. People confuse the Animal with the Claw which on the latter, the tires would split open revealing claws and extend the overall size of the tire to clear an obstacle.

The Galoob Giant Command Centre in the movie BIG

Having read that the Galoob Giant Command toy, which I posted a video of last night, makes an appearance in the old Tom Hanks film BIG, I thought I'd track it down.

Here's the video clip. It appears straight away in the young lad's hands. Its not there for long! Turn it off after a few seconds as the rest of the film rolls after that. I also had to choose this strange doctored You Tube version as its the only full version of BIG I could find of line.

Tom Hanks says it only cost ten bucks to make! The toy that is, not the film!

Although I'm particularly interested in multi-wheeled toys, largely down to the Scramble Bug I had as a kid, there are tons of other toys in BIG as well. They are vintage now but back then they were straight from the toy store store where Tom Hanks worked in the film!

Most of these toys have been ID'd already and quicker minds than mine have already done the work so here's Dinosaur Dracula's excellent take on the toys in BIG.
