This Japanese space toy looks ace.

It's a plastic moon globe sat on a LEM base.

There's what appears to be a list on the back, perhaps lunar locations?

I want one! You?

Latest in a Long Line of LEM’s

 Knowing my love of vintage space exploration memorabilia, Woodsy kindly found this cool little model in an antique store recently. 

Already built and painted, it is a simple model of the Apollo 11 Lunar Module, apparently by Revell. Its smaller than the Airfix version and measures about 4" across the legs and about 3" high.

It comes on a neat lunar surface base, with a single astronaut (currently attached with blu-tack). Its not a massively detailed model, but captures the shape of the Bug well. Whoever originally owned it has painted it simply with a dull silver and gold on the landing stage.

The base is well moulded and has depressions for the pads and a cratered surface. Between the two bigger craters is what appears to be a slot, which leads me to believe that a stand may have been attached here and that it would have originally supported a CSM, flying overhead.

The 1968 Revell catalogue has a 1/94 scale kit which seems to match the description and general shape of the kit, as seen at top right here.

On the underside it is just marked 'Revell Inc' and is undated. on the right of the photo you can see the slot for the stand, quite clearly.

Compare the 1/80 scale model of the LEM which I built in a fanciful 'Spacex' style livery, which is again smaller than the 1/72 Airfix kit.

Here's another Worthpoint SpaceX morsel which I've probably blogged before. I was interested in the small chromed LEM with the LP style antenna on top. Is that normal?

I saw this LEM on Worthpoint and wasn't sure if we've seen it before on MC. It's got an interesting string mechanism. The box is 7" tall.

Hi,

I have been searching for one of these for years and finally ebay came good. I had one of these watches when I was about 12.

I also think that the watch that came with the Spacex 2 LEM was the same as this, I know that was a Newmark watch but the graphic is identical.

On the LEM gift set box, it refers to a sweep module. That is what this watch has, the second hand is in the form of a clear disc with an Apollo csm on it that goes round once a minute!

I took this picture back in 2012. The astronaut is a Tri-ang but I have no clue who made the diminutive Apollo Lunar Module. The trouble is - just where did I put these things?

William's LEM Sealab Explorer

Hi, I purchased one of these Sealab aquarium items today at a thrift store. I came across your website mentioning them. 

It doesn't appear to have been removed from the box as it looks tied down inside. The box says 1971. There is still plastic around the box as well.

Can anyone tell me anything more about it?

Well look at Etsy's 3DStuffUK's Elon Musk's SpaceX Falcon 9 crew dragon capsule, a 3D printed model rocket. They could be from the same SpaceX! This model is 22cm tall assembled and it looks great!

3DstuffUK also make a Dyna-Soar! For the Project SWORD fan on a tight budget!

You could get anything 3D printed I imagine these days!

I like this old plastic Montaplex Apollo capsule and LEM. Its neat how it fits together so well.

I also liked this picture of a dusty section of the capsule tucked into a lonely Spanish cellar corner!
