The Action Zeroid toy from Bandai, not to be confused with the far superior late sixties toy line from Ideal.
Out of all the characters in Terrahawks, the Zeroids were, without doubt the most appealing, although compared to the other characters,
that isn’t saying much!
The Bandai toy, using the markings of the popular Sergeant
Major Zero is quite nicely detailed, and has a number of features.
Like its TV counterpart, there are sliding eye covers, which
I guess are the nearest thing a Zeroid gets to being a poseable figure.
Its other feature is its ability to bounce about after being
released from its stand. This is
achieved by winding a spring-loaded weight in the Zeroid itself, which spins
inside the sphere.
Like the other Bandai Terrahawk vehicles I’ve previously
covered, the toy comes with a specification sheet.
All in all, a nice, novelty addition to Bandai’s Terrahawks collection
and its name means I’ve got a tenuous connection between Gerry Anderson and one
of my favourite classic toy lines.
