Auf Dem Mond: Familiar to SpaceX Fans

 I was intrigued by the surface instrument on the cover of this old German Board game. The device will be known to fans of Apollo Moon Exploring space toys.

Inside appear to be more great illustrations!

I can see a gorgeous moon base, a beautiful moon buggy and even a MEV2, all familiar to SpaceX toy collectors.

I like the astronaut playing pieces too.

There's a sister game, Flieg Mit Zum Mond, but I've yet to find the contents of it.

Tiny SpaceX Diesel Wannabees

 Blimey, I thought these were SpaceX toys at first glance on the net! 

It's those shiny metallics and big 'wheels'.

These Valentine diesel engines are miniscule! 

They look great though!

ED'S SWORD DAY TARHEEL ORANGE NOVA ROCKET III

Here's the second offering for the Project SWORD anniversary, the Tarheel Nova III.

 I have both the Nova II and Nova III listed as Tarheel Part No. 5918 which I suspect is incorrect. 

The Tri-ang figures shown with the craft make for a good size comparison. These Tarheel toys are more appropriate in size to HO scale or 1/72 scale figures than most of the vehicles and spacecraft Tri-ang offered.

My sample has no packaging and is missing the canopy.

Here's my first entry for the blog's Project SWORD anniversary celebration. Over the years a few SWORD-related toys have managed to fly into Vegas Base, and I've captured pictures of them for the photo album.

Remember the beautiful Tri-ang SpaceX LEM we've featured in the past? 

A wonderful old plastic toy in detachable white and orange parts. Along with its companion Apollo capsule Its one of the larger SpaceX toys. My friend Paul Vreede covers it beautifully on his Triang SpaceX website

Well look at Etsy's 3DStuffUK's Elon Musk's SpaceX Falcon 9 crew dragon capsule, a 3D printed model rocket. They could be from the same SpaceX! This model is 22cm tall assembled and it looks great!

3DstuffUK also make a Dyna-Soar! For the Project SWORD fan on a tight budget!

You could get anything 3D printed I imagine these days!

PINKY AND THE SPACEX

I love this little Pinky and the Brain space toy I saw online.

It could easilly be a Triang SpaceX miniature or an Apollo Moon Exploring addition 

.... until you see Pinky sprawled out in the cockpit... or is the Brain?

Check out these large toy forklifts.

Superb as they are, they don't half recall the general shape of the Tri-ang SpaceX/ Golden Astronaut forklift!

SPACEX CHERRY PICKER

Moonbase Junior was 3 in September.

He got this cool Airport set.

As soon as I saw it I zoomed in on this cherry picker.

It totally said to me ... SpaceX!

Its sleek orange plastic body would look suoerb carded by Triang.

It even has SpaceX type wheels!

What do you think? What could it be in the range?

ARE THE SPACEX AND PENN PLAX APOLLO LEMS THE SAME?

With the Moon Landing on my mind I'm Always on the look out for new LEMS.

Here's one from the archives of the blog along with a new sighting.

Its the Penn Plax Sealab Explorer from 1971 seen in red and white below.

Yes, the Sealab Explorer is an underwater LEM! 

Penn Plax were and are the kings of plastic fish tank ornamentation.

Here's another more recent sighting of a red and metallic green one on the Minipetsupplies site.

 Despite it saying it was made exclusively fpr Penn Plax in Hong Kong the Penn Plax LEM reminds me a lot of the Tri-ang Spacex LEM.
