Comansi Thunderbirds: El Alunizaje!

Ive always admired this Spanish set.

The plastic moons ape recalls Ed's scratchbuilt diorama and the neon figures are brilliant.

A set I've never seen in the flesh, only surpassed by the phenomenal Trol island.

I was trying to decide what to take pics of...I saw your post on Spanish Space Toys. Good place to start I thought. I believe others have posted these before. But here are mine.

Starting out with the huge Luna Car by Jefe. Nice cable control action vehicle. I'm recasting new springy wheels for mine presently. Disc satellite launches. vehicle lights up.

Next items are lunar rovers and a playset of the Coman Boys. First one is a complete mint playset with a Grey rover and orange trailer bus. Second set is a orange rover with matching trailer bus. There are two versions of the trailer. And various color combinations of the rover. There is also a rocket (which is hiding from me in a tote somewhere in my studio). Thanks.

Davy Crockett: Toys of the Wild Frontier

 Thinking back to last week's car boot I recall seeing some Comansi boxed Wild West figurines. Not particularly old [discontinued in 1995] these Spanish statuettes are great fun and I've sold a few myself on my old toy stall in the 00's.

A good example is the Davy Crockett figure, which I found on Worthpoint and Todocollecion. Nicely detailed and painted, I can imagine these making a superb display collection.

Googling for Davy I also found this image of a beautiful Disney Crockett watch with his powder horn [or is it for blowing?]. A gorgeous boxed set, I would have adored it as a kid. I think this is from the 1950's and shows the actor Fess Parker. Do you know him?

Seeing that horn reminded me of a toy set I had as a kid, a Davy Crockett [or was it Daniel Boone?] toy 'weapons' set carded and in a bag. It included a plastic horn, a pipe of peace and a tomahawk. Somewhere in the attic I've got two of them, both slightly different, which I found at a toy fair in the 1990's and bagged them straight away!

When I venture into the attic later, looking for the paddling pool from last summer, I'll snap them!

SPACE ATTACK ATE MY THUNDERBIRD!

 When I saw this Space Attack thingy I thought, that monster's eaten Thunderbird 4!

I thought it was the Spanish Comansi TB4 that looks like this one.

These Toy Island Space Attack toys were "the best in electronic sound toys" at the time. I remember the figures being called Voice Raiders. They've featured a few times on MC.

Paul from New Zealand provided more pictures of the line. I think the TB4-like vehicle above in the mouth of the monster is the green one on the left. The exhausts must be movable, they appear retracted in the package here but extended in the monster's mouth.

Anyone got any of these vehicles?

SPANISH ANDERSONALIA TO CLOSE THE YEAR

 New Years Eve 2020 has opened its eyes here in the UK. For some of you it will be nearly over.

Here's a few old toys I saw on Spain's main auction site, all having a nice Andersonesque vibe.

LEGENDARY PERSONAGES OF THE WILD WEST

Another wild west toy I recently saw at a sale was this figure of General Grant. Its from the Wild West series of Legendary Personages, small statuettes by Spanish company Comansi. Each figure came boxed like this one. They are hand painted PVC figurines made in China. Not sure of the date.

There was a window boxed version too I think.

Years ago when I had a vintage toy stall I bought in a stack of these boxed figures and I must say they sold well.

THE COMAN BOYS MOON FARGO?

Spain's terrific Coman Boys and Airgam line had its own Moon Fargo style vehicle. Check out this film footage. There's loads of them on that Coman moon! What do you think? Did you have some Coman Boys?

COMANSI THUNDERBIRDS

I quite like these old cute plastic Thunderbirds vehicles from Spain made by Comansi as seen on Todocollecion.

The two free-standing antennae are neat too but the thing I like the most is the cake-cover canopy on the Thunderbird 5! Never seen that before.
