Rob's Boeing Bomarc Missile Model

Here is my most recent model kit build, Boeing’s Bomarc IM-99 surface-to-air guided missile, first tested in 1952, put into production in 1957, and made obsolete shortly thereafter by the new threat of high-speed ICBM missiles.

Originally a 1958 Revell kit, this is the 2023 Atlantis Models reissue.

The launch platform was the fun part!

Rob's Movie Monsters

Just inspired by your recent post on HR Giger to gather up pix of some of my favorite movie monsters.

As you can see, they tend towards the fanciful & fantastic. I've always gravitated towards the bizarre and unusual in creature design, and the stuff that came after Alien lost me entirely.

Anyways, a short list:

Just so folks don't think I am beholden to all 50s and 60s monsters, I will say that I never cared for the Creature from

The Black Lagoon, or the Beast from 20,000 Fathoms. Too "normal."

I like my monsters WEIRD.

Rob's Kibri HO Tank Truck Station

Here is a Kibri HO scale Tank Truck Station I recently snagged off eBay. 

It was partially assembled and missing a few parts, but I wanted to resurrect it to go with the Kibri Esso Fuel Tanks I got many years ago. 

This kit was imported into the US by Polks Hobbies, under their Aristo-Craft brand. Circa 1960.

Readers' Andersons: 2. Rob's MSV 2.0: Mars Scout Vehicle

Here is my reimagining of the Captain Scarlet MSV kit by Imai. I call it “MSV 2.0: Mars Scout Vehicle.”

I tried to make the vehicle look like the cousin of the great Zero-X, assigned to scouting missions on Mars.

Fandersons may find it sacrilegious, but I hope some of you “get it.”

I was going through some old papers, and found this odd drawing I made circa 1970.

It shows a side view of my Tarheel Nova II, along with some strange typewritten "specifications" which I do not recall at all! 

Anyways, there it is, and it gives you an idea of how obsessed I was with that toy at the time!

Rob's Heimat Holiday

Just for fun, here are pix of a few German HO scale houses I've decided to take to Goodwill. 

I've had them for years, and frankly, I need the space! No train layout anymore, so I have to be discerning on what I keep.

 All of these hail from the 1960's, although some of the builds are more recent.
