IMPERIAL ENTANGLEMENTS!

 Slim Pickens down at the Arch today. Got a few old bits.

The Matchbox Adventure 2000 tracked tank is for Junior. I just need the insertable front end vehicle now. He's seen my own as well as my Corgi Lasertron and Magnetron vehicles and is head over heels with them! [looking for Magnetron, Rocketron and Scanetron for him now]. 

The Pixels pocket bagatelle game is for Junior as well, as he said he'd seen the film. The Rolls is for me to touch-up and the Imperial dinosaur is stock.

There were 6 Imperial Toys lizard/dinosaurs at a pound each. I had one pound in my pocket left so I bagged this, the oldest from 1978. The rest were 1980.

You can see the model number 7957. Its interesting to note that Imperial also released the Apollo Moon Exploring carded toys we featured many times early on on the blog. These carded sets were all numbered 304. 

I wonder if all the Imperial dinosaur numbers began with 7?

BLUE 2000

I never had any Adventure 2000 die-casts as a kid but have grown to appreciate their fine design and build.

A staple at decent car boot sale toy stalls I often see the green vehicles.

However, I don't think I've ever seen the blue vehicle shown here in a shot by Azureedge online.

Is it a model you know?

SPECTRUM ADVENTURE 2000

Seeing Electricwave's amazingly mint Adventure 2000 die-casts toys the other day it reminded me of something Japanese.

Look at this Japanese SPV concoction and you'll see what I mean!

Its called something like the Tiger Captain and is one of a fleet of SPV hybrids from Japan.

Has this design got any roots in the real world?

Hi Woodsy, here are better pictures of my Matchbox Adventure 2000..the Wheeler missile launcher Is dated 1975,other veichles 1977.. i spotted the date under the frame.

LASERTRON AND ADVENTURE 2000

 Its been a slow Bank Holiday on the touch-up front after the zealous surge yesterday. 

I did get out two more oldsters to see what I could do, both Sci-Fi influenced from the 70's, which you may have had yourself. 

I picked up the green Adventure 2000 Fight Hunter at a car boot and the orange X2 Lasertron was kindly donated by Wotan.

Alas, all the greens and oranges that I have are unsuitable for patching up these two vehicles. There are just so many shades of the these two colours.

Were these vehicle ranges that you had readers?

Postscript

The figures to this toy range intrigued me when I saw them earlier today. 

They reminded me of these figures from the board game Buck Rogers Battle for the 25th Century Game by TSR.
