Seeing Electricwave's amazingly mint Adventure 2000 die-casts toys the other day it reminded me of something Japanese.
Look at this Japanese SPV concoction and you'll see what I mean!
Its called something like the Tiger Captain and is one of a fleet of SPV hybrids from Japan.
Has this design got any roots in the real world?
What an interesting connection! I'd never connected those dots, but I think you may have cracked that case!
ReplyDeleteThanks Looey! I do love those designs!
DeleteI do not know about the vehicle parts, but the turret looks like it comes from a British Chieftain Main Battle Tank, which mounted a 120 mm gun.
ReplyDeleteThanks for posting again my pictures,it s an honour my friend! ew
ReplyDeleteMore Anderson connections: Ultraman Taro has a "underground tank" called the Bermidar II. Not only does the back half look like the Killdozer, it has 2 MOLEs attached to it for drilling. https://www.lulu-berlu.com/ultraman-taro-bulmark-1973-bermider-ii-mint-in-box-a15608-en.html https://www.ebay.com/itm/174831598900 and on the upper right https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/ultra/images/f/f4/ZAT4.jpg/revision/latest/scale-to-width-down/1000?cb=20191121051434
ReplyDeleteTaro also features a high speed fighter named Condor 1 which has influences from the SHADO interceptor. https://www.scalemates.com/kits/marusan-condor-1--1289462
Finally we have the Andromeda, a spaceship that shares many features with Thunderbird 3. upper left https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/ultra/images/9/95/ZAT5.jpg/revision/latest/scale-to-width-down/1000?cb=20191121051443 https://www.scalemates.com/kits/marusan-038-zat-andromeda--1023542
Taro opening has the vehicles making appearances around the 40 second mark

Fab links and connections Lance! Love 'em! I see what you mean about all the Anderson influences. The Japanese paid homage to him wherever they could I reckon! Thanks for sharing.
