ED'S HAULERS: PROCESSED PLASTICS

Woodsy and Fellow Moonbaser's,

This Auto Hauler from Processed Plastic is about the same size as the Marx hauler I sent yesterday. I wish I knew PP had these when I was a kid, because some of my favorite vehicle's back then was a series of five that PP produced in the late '50s. I loaded up this hauler with five Caddy's from that series. 

Unlike the Marx hauler, this one has a fully collapsible upper deck to facilitate off-loading of the cars.

ED'S HAULERS: Pyro Small Army Flatbed Truck w-Auto

Here's the last of my Army transporters,

Like the Banner transporter, this Pyro truck is quite small. 

Pyro made quite a nice series of small-sized Army vehicles that also included a couple of boats. Unfortunately, to the best of my knowledge, they never made an appropriately sized contingent of Little Green Army Men to go with them.

ED'S MARX HAULER

Woodsy and Fellow Moonbasers,

Here's a wonderful Marx auto hauler I've had for many a moon now. 

This hauler is designed such that the upper deck actually tilts down to accommodate unloading of the cars. I have two of these haulers, but the second one is missing its unloading ramp. Unlike the other transporters I've sent photos of, this one is about the right size for a 3-rail O-gauge train layout. 

However, due to space limitations, we tend to make the roads on our layouts quite narrow, making this piece more of a display piece to set off to one side.

The last attachment is a page from a '50s Montgomery Wards Christmas Wishbook featuring this hauler as part of a larger service station playset (BTW, I have that playset but haven't yet taken photos of it).

LITTLE GREEN TRANSPORTER

This is a second issue Dinky Eagle Transporter I picked up a few weeks back at the Reebok Toy Fair.

Apart from the missing odd thruster and chipped paint I don’t think it’s a bad example for under twenty quid.

While I was there other dealers were asking at least twice as much for Eagle’s that were missing half their parts and most of their paint. I can never get my head round some dealers pricing structure.

My original Dinky Eagle which I bought in the mid-seventies is an amalgam of a green transporter and a white freighter.  It’s pleasing to the eye but not how Dinky released it. So I thought I’d add an example to my collection.
