What can you see?

PROJECT SWORD: LABEL-BODIED

A good example of how Dymo labels appeared everywhere in the Sixties is this obscure but important footage of a Project SWORD toys exhibition in London, which we've seen before on MC.

The various SWORD toys held by the two ladies have embossed label strips stuck to them, although I can't tell what they say; possibly 4 characters on each. An exhibition stock reference of some kind? What do you think? I bet they were hard to get off when it was all over!

Worthy of note is the totally unique white-coloured Nuclear Ferry at the very start of the SWORD display. Since seeing this film a few years back I've come to regard this white ferry as maybe a prototype before Century 21 Toys released the final blue version, but this is pure supposition on my part. What do you reckon?

I have a new exhibit in the departures level of Terminal 1 at Toronto International Airport, Canada.

It's a sort of brief view of space history as seen through pop culture. Books, toys, models etc. It's got everything from HG Wells and Verne through Goddard Tsiolkovsky and Oberth to Clarke, Von Braun, Bonestell, Apollo, Dr

Who, Star Trek, Star Wars, X Prize, Shuttle, International Space Station, etc etc.

SpaceX and Major Matt Mason too!

It's there until January 2017.

Just thought I'd let you know that the 'Time Travellers' exhibition in Spaceport [ on the Wirral in England] is still running (we've been extended yet again). I went today to help move some props around and install some new ones. Here's a couple of pictures of my Dalek in his new area of the display!
