Here's my slightly tarnished 'Whirl-a-way' Runabout from Ideal's Boaterific range.
Like my other Boaterific toy boat, the 'Atlas' Tug there's a few bits missing, notably the radio mast.
One thing that is odd about it is its backing card which is actually for another boat in the series, the 'Barracuda' Sport Fisherman.
At first I thought someone must have just mixed them up, but on closer inspection the name has been crossed out in the factory, but the number is the correct one for the Whirl-a-way boat, so this quite possibly is as it was originally purchased.
I'm speculating that it was a mistake made in the factory as the same number is attributed to both the Whirl-a-way and the Barracuda on the back of the card (the correct number for the Barracuda is 4360-4, while the Whirl-a-way is 4365-3)
The Whirl-a-way, although missing a lot of the chrome paint on its plastic parts still looks good.
It has that deep hull to accommodate the batteries and the Motorific motor.
Like all these toys, there's lots of bits of detail.
The problem for me now is as this is my second Boaterific boat, it means it's the start of yet another collection!
