PERRY INTERESTING!

 Perry Rhodan, the German sci-Fi pulp comic series, must be one of the most prolific lines in sci-fi pulp. Having just looked at the cover gallery there are over three thousand editions! Its following must go back years and be massive in its home country.

Here are just two of the covers that caught my eye, simply because they contain my old mucker the Dyna-Soar, a design I knew well as a kid because Century 21 Toys released a lovely plastic version as part of their Project SWORD range of spaceships.

This vintage German Perry Rhodan mag cover caught my eye. With its Moon Ranger looks its about to blast a huge Venus nessie.

SOS AUS DEM WELTALL: ARMCHAIR OBSERVATIONS OF THE TOY KIND

Looking at these film stills from the Perry Rhodan flick, SOS aus dem WELTALL [1967], that wheel looks a lot like the Bendix design as featured on our friend the SpaceX MEV2 [Bill's photograph]. No idea what the Perry Rhodan vehicle is. Can't find a better still.

There's also this wacky three legged spacecraft in the film. Its very Victorian looking, like a deep sea divers helmet.

It sort of reminds me of that strange barometer head on the X-70 Astronaut robot pictured below. What do you think?
