FINDS OF THE ZODIAC

I saw these two scarce figures on the Bay a while back so I saved the pics. From 1982 Zodiac Toys, amazingly they're Tommy Gunn no less! I had a Pedigree Tommy Gunn soldier back in the late 60's!

These look like a Star Wars cash-in to me but still they're pretty darn cool and had an eye watering price tag to boot!

You ever seen them before? Did you have a Tommy Gunn figure?

SIGNS OF THE ZODIAC

 Its been a fruitful weekend for netting old toys. Always great fun, Saturday in Barnsley's Charity shops was a hoot and today, car boot Sunday in Leeds was bountiful.

One of the highlights for me was buying this old Zodiac Toys vaccy in its box. It was such a thrill to buy a Zodiac toy again, as I adored the shop in Preston back in the Sixties. I still have one of my fave books from there on Jason and the Golden Fleece.

This is the original price tag for the vaccy, with that classic lettering, still on the box. £3.99! I only paid two more!

And the Zodiac toys Z logo on the base of it.

Just need to test it out now. Anyone need some hoovering done?

ZODIAC TOYS JUDY'S LOUNGE FURNITURE

 

I saw this set from the 1970's online and realised that we have it as part of our Grandchildren's play pile!

Interestingly it was released by Zodiac Toys, one of my fave toy shops when I was a kid.

Check out the address of the Zodiac store nearest to you back in the day in the UK. I was chuffed to see my own local shop in Preston on the list! Those were the days. Zodiac Toys! How I loved that place.

Not something you see every day, a pistol toy car!

This one is even co-branded Zodiac, my fave toy shop in the Sixties.

THE ZODIAC TOYS ASTRONAUT?

 I saw this on Ebay last month so I kept a couple of shots.

I loved Zodiac toys as a kid especially at Christmas! But this one I don't remember. It's a cracker.

Described as the Zodiac Toys astronaut, its that blue suit that stands out!

ST.GEORGES SHOPPING CENTRE, PRESTON, LANCASHIRE 1969

This is cool and festive. I found this old amateur footage of Preston, my home town in 1969 on You Tube. The film wanders around one the town's shopping centres, St.Georges, where I'm pretty sure Zodiac Toys was, my second favourite toy shop after Thomas Mears. 

Zodiac came to Preston in 1968. I wuz 7. Checking Zodiac Toys' own archive site it says that 'my' Zodiac was on Fishergate Walk rather than in this Shopping Centre, which is confusing.

My Folks got me all my SWORD toys at Thomas Mears and tons of stuff from Zodiac too like this Jason and the Argonauts book, as you can see on the label!
