The Black Cauldon 's Little Golden Book

I could not find much in the way of toys from the Disney film The Black Cauldron. Mostly story books, colouring books, and such.

There was a Little Golden Book, published in 1985 by Western Publishing Company Inc, of Racine, Wisconsin. This was a small, hardback story book, number 105-54.

The full title is The Black Cauldron - Taran Finds A Friend, so presumably it does not cover the whole film. Not much at all, for a Disney film.

Little Golden Book: Exploring Space

Max from Max's Models recently picked up an old space book - the Little Golden Book Exploring Space. 

At the beginning of his latest Livestream he reads the entire book, and shows us the wonderful illustrations.

The book was published in 1958, so it is post-Sputnik and post-Vanguard, but well before the first manned space flights.

MAX'S EXPLORING SPACE LITTLE GOLDEN BOOK FIND

 Max from Max's Models has been visiting an antiques mall in Florida, and it seems to be just as good as the ones in Britain. You lucky boys. Nothing even close to them in NZ, at least none that I have seen.

Kits, die-casts, train sets, old 8mm Castle home movies, camera equipment, and books. Max found a Little Golden book which I think will interest you. He is promising a special book report on it soon.

Gerry Anderson Little Golden Books

Here is a short You Tube look at the Little Golden Books versions of Supercar (1962) and Fireball XL5 (1964), published in the USA.

Little Golden Books were small, 24 page hardbacks, with a black and gold spine. Full colour illustrations for young readers.

A good reference on these books is Collecting Little Golden Books, Steve Santi, Krause Publications, 5th Edition 2003. Mostly black and white, with only a few colour pages. 560 pages. Apart from the normal LGB, there was also a Supercar Cut-out Coloring Book.
