Operation Soap Dish: My Home Made SpaceX Moon Base HQ Garage Module

 The garage is a basic affair, essentially a floor and a stopper to secure a SpaceX toy vehicle, in this case the brilliant Valigursky MEV2.

There's also room for a radio and a six-pack of Becks if any of the staffers want to tinker too!

ELF TOYS THUNDERBIRDS LAYOUT

 

I was sent this snap by a reader who found these Elf Tracy Island parts in his parent's loft. Luckily it still has its paperwork too.

It always amazes me when one of these sets surfaces like this.  We've seen them before on MC and years ago at that but its always great to see and gives me a glimmer of hope that one day a reader will unearth a Project SWORD Moonbase Play Set somewhere!

GOLDEN BEAR ASTRO VENTURE SPACE SET

 I like this modern set. Check out the video. Do you like it?

The housing module really recalls the similar modules in the fabled Moonbase Play Set of the Project SWORD range.

This modern Golden Bear set may work well with Golden Astronaut SpaceX toys! What do you reckon? Wrong scale?

ABANDONED MOON BASES

 A trip into the Moonbase attic found two abandoned bases.

These two Moonbases were built in 2009 as part of a the blog's look at the fabled Project SWORD Moonbase toy, of which only two possible examples have ever been seen we think.

This large scratch built model was my own effort to capture the SWORD Base. It could do with another outing.

This smaller SpaceX-scale set was made by Wotan and again deserves another outing.

I shall see what technicians at Moonbase can do!
