I recently picked up this old Sindy Buggy in a Saltaire charity shop. Two pounds and a ton of fun sprucing up those decals.
The finished Buggy in the morning frost.
The aerial is borrowed from our Grandson Junior's Lego box.
What do you think?
I sometimes see these buggies in Space 1999 livery. Are they kosher or Code 3 customs?
Very nice. I made one into a space 1999 buggy once.
ReplyDeleteI thought you had. Still got it Kev?
DeleteNo, I gave it to the Hyde Fundraisers, they display it at exhibitions sometimes.
DeleteThat is a really nice toy, and a great find. Great price too. Well done.
ReplyDeleteCheers Paul. A bargain yep.
DeleteSaltaire !
ReplyDeleteYou're in my old stomping ground again Woodsy. I went to Salts Grammar School in the '70s.
Used to go past Salts Mill (which was a storage facility then, not an art gallery) every day on my way there.
Ha ha! Yep, my daughter lives near Saltaire. It's now a UNESCO World Heritage Site Mish. You were stomping on very important ground! Alas, Salts Mill was shut that day.
DeleteMy instant thoughts were of a Moonbase Alpha moonbuggy too! I think Action Man or GI Joe had a 6 wheeled version available...
ReplyDeleteI also apologise to Moonbasers everywhere for referring to custom one off die-cast models as Code 3 (which are limited run custom productions) when they are more accurately Code 4!
I'll go stand in the corner now...
Yep Looey, the Gi Joe buggy is slightly different but I think I've seen it Space 1999'd as well. Never heard of Code 4!
