Its plastic is still soft and squeezy despite being about 55 years old. The base has what looks like M89 just under where it says Plaston - would this be the mould number?
Alas it no longer has its stickers (I do remember scraping them off at about age 10. Bad Toad!) I've added a picture of what the collection time sticker looked like (good old internet!), but cant find any pics of the toy with its other stickers (I think there was a 1 for the collection).
The top would have had a 'Post office' sticker - I've found an image online of the type of postbox the toy is based on and include that as well.

Sorry, Mr Toad, I did a quick Google search to see if I could find a complete version so I could reconstruct your stickers but no joy. I found Google Lens more useful in the search, but again nothing.
ReplyDeleteThere is this link, but this example looks identical to yours...

I think there must have been alot of naughty sticker-puller-offerers! I may just print some stickers based on the one with the collection times, and the Post Office from the original post box.
DeleteHow times have changed. Four collections a day! IIRC there were two deliveries as well in those days.
ReplyDeleteAs it has my initials on it, I feel it's only proper that you wrap it up and send it to me at once. It'll have other post box money banks to keep it company.
ReplyDeleteI fear this is the only 'post' you'll get Kid! Did you have one too?
DeleteNo, but I have an assortment of different post box/pillar box banks that I've collected down through the years and I'd have made Timmy Toad's most welcome. You can see some of mine on my blog if you type 'From Pillar To Post' into its search box.
