Continuing my collection of Ferrero Kinder Egg toys, I recently discovered a small set of rescue vehicles from around 2002. Vaguely stylised after animals, they are modelled after a bee, fish and a crocodile. The River Rescue is the most animal like, based on the crocs head. But the design is held up by a nicely detailed rotor array at the rear. Air Rescue comes in the form of an aerodyne copter vehicle and the sub has a large panoramic viewport, showing the pilot figure.
Considering the comparatively cheap price, usually around £1, for a chocolate egg and a small toy, the toys are sometimes extremely detailed. Along with the Kinder trains I collect, I found a trio of steam powered trucks. Although each is under 2 inches long, they are kit based and extremely well cast.
Kinder Egg vehicles and trains are certainly a delight. I thoroughly enjoy my limited collection and I really hope I can find time to blog them.
