Wow, another thing I can't remember as a kid but feel sure I ought to. That would have been so up my street. I did have quite a few editions of another similar sort of publication as a kid though, it was called something like "How it Works" and I remember one I had about Castles that I just loved. Was pretty high brow too for the audience it was aimed for...ah for the days when everything wasn't so dumbed down!
Got to say, I was disappointed by your slippers Woodsy, I was expecting you'd have something much more like these...hehe...
Thanks for showing these, Woodsy. And my thanks to your friend too.
They do ring a bell. I think one of my cousins had some.
As a child, I had some magazines, bought bound, as if the part works had been made into books. They could well have been the "How it Works" you mention, eviled.
My favourite from it was a cutaway of a what was either the London Underground, or a generic version of such. The beauty of it was that it showed the actual relationship in space of the tunnels relative to each other. I never failed to get a thrill from looking at that illustration.

My slippers are only youngsters. Give them time to grow! They'll be like Oddbod's hairy feet by Halloween! hee hee.
