Blazing Combat!

As a kid I loved reading my big brothers' Creepy and Eerie comics. It was pure heaven.

Warren advertised their other American comics inside, which I've never seen in the flesh. 

The war one was Blazing Combat.

This is the incredible cover of the first issue, which really made an impression as a kid. The wounded guy always reminded me of a zombified corpse you definitely find in Creepy or Eerie (pics from an auction).

Yep, Blazing Combat used the same roster of world-class artists and writers as its more famous Warren horror stablemates.

That issue one cover was by Frank Frazetta. Who else! 

The inner cover and contents page is a mirror image of the Creepy and Eerie house style.

These look intriguing from 1976. I never saw these in the UK.  I wonder how many ended up crashing on the shed roof!

No Way Home

Being without Disney+ currently means I have to forego the main Marvel superhero movies and settle for Spider-Man films on other channels.

Spider-Man is a teenager, invented to annoy Sixty-odd year olds like me, but needs must. I miss my Marvel heroes like Iron Man and Thor so much I'll take a bit of webbing.

This week I braved Spider-Man No Way Home. It was a test of my nerves in the face of so much adolescent angst and chaos. I only just survived, largely saved by two cameo actors, the chap that plays Dr. Strange, who I find interesting and the very first young actor who played Spider-Man 15 years ago, the best of the crop of three webslingers since then. 

No Way Home isn't something I can rave about but it gave me just enough Stan to reboot my flagging Lee.

I'll try the sequel or prequel next.

ZEROID COMMANDER ZOGG'S ACTION SET

Some photos of the Zeroid Commander Action Set which featured Zogg.

Zogg's  accessories are activated by his arms, which carry a current from his battery.

This is the Sensor Station. Zogg.s battery power  is supposed to spin the radar array. To be honest, I've never got it to work properly.

I've always liked the box art on the Zeroid action sets, giving us a colourful glimpse of their home on the Planet Zero.
