In an attempt to make a repro shin guard for Conan's horse I used some FIMO. It formed well and I was pleased with the look so it went in the oven.
Mistake! It wasn't FIMO. It was air-drying modelling clay and melted like plastic!
Drat!
I'm now keeping things simple and making a guard out of Baco-foil!
That can't melt!
Ha ha!
I saw a box set of the modern Battlestar Galactica DVDs at a sale today. I paused but passed.
I'm not well-up on BSG at all. Like this set, it sort of passed me by in the maelstrom of Star Wars, but I do seem to recall someone saying that the modern re-make TV series was one of the best sci-fi shows around.
Is that right? Any good? It might still be there next week!
Moonbase has just passed the ten million hits mark, which I'm quite staggered by.
I would like to thank Scoop and Wotan for their fabulous ongoing posts and all those who contribute, however small, to the content of the blog.

A few shots of the original 'yellow winged' Johnny Lightning Supercar, that came out in 2001. A later release with white wings corrected the error.
Other releases followed featuring Supercar as it might have appeared in a proposed series of a U.S. planned 5-issue run of comic books, which would have picked up where the TV series left off.
Sadly, only one issue appeared in February, 2003.
I noticed this recently online and something I've not seen before; the original inner packaging card rings on the Century 21 Toys Project SWORD Scramble bug.
The 3 card shapes protect all the delicate parts at the top of the toy below the lid whilst it's being stored in it's box.

Another of my UFO TV series memories.
My old UFO poster, published in 1972 by Pace International was on my bedroom wall for several years during my early teenage years, before it was replaced with posters of the chopper motorcycles from Easy Rider, Jethro Tull, and Samantha Fox.
Thankfully, I’ve grown out of chopper motorcycles!
Further to Brian's fantastic Tudor Rose flying toy, here's a Spanish plastic flying platform.
I adore the box!
