Another of my UFO TV series memories.
My old UFO poster, published in 1972 by Pace International was on my bedroom wall for several years during my early teenage years, before it was replaced with posters of the chopper motorcycles from Easy Rider, Jethro Tull, and Samantha Fox.
Thankfully, I’ve grown out of chopper motorcycles!
Wow, I never knew that existed and I used to check out posters in those days.
ReplyDeleteI don't how long it would have been available, Kev. I remember there was a Captain Scarlet and Joe 90 one as well, but I never had those.
DeleteI bought it at Londale Universal, a trendy department store in Southport town centre.
Amazing. Was it the record shop on Eastbank Street? We've still got a Pace poster from Alias Smith and Jones!
ReplyDeleteYou remember it, Kev! That's absolutely right. It was on the corner of Eastbank street and Chapel street. It's a Costa Coffee now.:(
DeleteActually, I don't remember it, but my wife does, I only moved to Southport in the 80's. I think that shop was HMV then? The poster shop she was thinking of was on Eastbank Street, on the right as you walk away from Lord Street, on a corner in a tall victorian building, but she can't remember which corner!
DeleteThere was a record shop on the corner of Eastbank Street and Princes Street in the 70's. Maybe that's the one she's thinking of. Londale Universal became a Littlewoods store. HMV was further down Chapel Street. Sadly, that's gone, too.
DeleteAh, that must be the one! My wife bought her Kid Curry poster from it and it's still on the wall here in Chester now!
DeleteShe sounds like a Ben Murphy fan. I don't suppose she read the Alias Smith and Jones comic strip in TV Action?;D
DeleteYes she did! And yes she is!
DeleteHa,ha! That's brilliant! :D
