Vintage Franconia LM EAGLE Action Model

I saw this LEM on Worthpoint and wasn't sure if we've seen it before on MC. It's got an interesting string mechanism. The box is 7" tall.

Bill donated some old toys recently including this neat vintage toy rifle. The make is unknown to me but I had lots of fun messing about attaching pipes to it. Nothings glued, just strapped on with tree ties. 

Anyone recognise it? 

Arto's Action Man Lenticular

Arto kindly sent me this image of his latest find, a neat lenticular postcard featuring none other than our friend..... Action Man! 

It's fantastic and all new to me.

Come in Number Six

I had to laugh at this, a huge red ball shoved into a folly at Roberts Park in Saltaire. 

It brought back memories of the big mysterious white balloon in The Prisoner, which oddly enough, I never saw when I visited Port Meirion as a kid in the early Seventies.

Will's Plastic Rockets

Hi Woodsy,

I've been really enjoying Arto's posts of the plastic rockets. Here's a couple of strange ones. The first one has a metal tab , I think to mount it on a bike handle. The second is a whistle.

 Sad to hear that actor and writer, Prentis Hancock has passed away.

Custom Cherilea

 You may recall that I recently found an almost complete pair of Cherilea Space pods, one just missing a few accessories and the other simply a half sphere.

As the pods were originally designed as toy versions of the Dr Who Mechanoid robot, it wasn’t difficult to track down a 3D print file for one. 

A friend of mine in University kindly ran off the file for me and in about 4 hours, I had a neat hemisphere!

Slightly shallower than the space pods and without the openings in the upper ring, it still passes extremely well as a pod. The scanner and booster are from Kinder Egg toys and the retros are pen lids. The legs are once more made from bent sprue, with Lego studs for pads. They are far from perfect and would benefit from some 3D printed copies, but I would have to create them myself in a CAD package. Maybe soon!

Bill's Corgi Consul Project

Attached are some photos of the partly completed project.

So I'm at the detailing stages of the Corgi. It's not riveted in on the base at the moment because the BIG problem is that I'm unable to find a replacement window unit for this Corgi Ford Consul Classic 315.

Research of the number 315 shows a different car entirely. Additionally I was going to use some chrome paint on the silver parts. Sadly the only chrome paint I could find was way too expensive to warrant buying it. Also there was so much I'd never use it all as the spray can was huge.

So I resorted to trying some silver touch up paint for a car. I may well do some further detailing on the silver to remove the rather lacklustre finish.

There is a reproduction box on the way for it to be displayed on.

Finally, does the registration number look familiar?
