Part of the new lockdown sub-culture that's sprung up here are boxes of free toys outside people's houses.

Since shopping is out the window these boxes of free toys are a welcome way for kids to get a teddy, DVD or a jigsaw whilst out walking and biking with their folks.

Out walking we ourselves were given a carrier bag of Winnie the Pooh jigsaws outside a stranger's house this morning as soon as we mentioned we had new granddaughter we haven't really seen!

I like these random acts of kindness and the freebie boxes are one of the more pleasant sides of lockdown.

The auction listed other possible differences that can be found with these cars overall besides the colour: 3 types of wing mirrors, a siren central on the bonnet and three different radiator styles.

TONY P'S SIGNED ANDERSON 'BIBLE'

Hi Woodsy,

This evening, while I was writing a reply to your "How did you hear about Moonbase Central" blog post, I made a reference in it to Dennis Nicholson's Anderson Memorabilia "Bible".

As I was doing it I remembered that I have a nice little souvenir - a copy of the Bible signed by the great man himself!

It happened many years ago. I had a wining ebay bid on a batch of copies of "Thunderbirds - The Comic" and when I made contact with the seller, it turned out to be none other than Dennis.

I arranged to pick the comics up in person to save postage (and to be able to meet a legend) and made sure I took my copy of the Bible for him to sign! Dennis was a true gent and showed me some highlights of his collection, including his full set of TV 21s and other gorgeous bits and pieces.

He said his only regret about the Memorabilia Guide was that he wasn't able to have it published in colour as, at the time, the cost would have been prohibitive.

THE NAME OF THE MUG IS BABYLON 5

During the late nineties I lived and breathed Babylon 5, and attended a major sci-fi convention in Blackpool where I met all the stars, except Andrea Thompson.

Although it had a five year run, due to production issues the core story more or less finished during the fourth season, but nevertheless a great cult series, and not necessarily my last, best hope for a morning cuppa!

SHOKKI COMIC

Warren's Creepy and Eerie was a worldwide horror comics phenomenon.

I collected all the first runs of Creepy and Eerie in the Noughties and these are stored away in the loft. I adored these comics as a kid, reading my older brothers' copies, in the Sixties and early Seventies. I wanted my own set when I grew up!

Arto very kindly sent me a copy of the Finnish Shokki and it makes a fine addition to my collection.
