Hey, Moonbasers guess where I am?
Some lovely Hot Wheels and other stuff. Some prices a bargain, others eye watering!
Send your answers on a postcard to the comments section!
If anyone is interested in this stuff, I'm in town for the next few days...
Cheers,
Looey
Oz Base on the move
Wow - lucky boy, im guessing Japan! Tokyo or Kyoto maybe? Ill take that big grey transport please, but I reckon that comes under the 'eyewatering' section! Bill
ReplyDeleteToo right, Bill! That's the reimagined Diaclone range by Tomy/Takara. I'd like a new style Giant Robot Base, but it's a) already discontinued and b) over $1K at the cheapest. I love that moon crawler, but. It has such a 60's Yonezawa vibe to it.
DeleteI also saw an Optimus Prime who turned into a sort of MOLAB/ANT thing eye, but at $100+
I decided -Nah.
The winner in the eyewatering stakes goes to the absolutely gigantic Grimlock. Which apart from his wonderful neck internal details, tips the scales at over 1200 Aussie Dollars!
and a camera shop that sells toys? my idea of heaven Bill
DeleteBest keep an eye out for Godzilla while you're there!
ReplyDeleteI'm looking for a DVD of Gorath. I found a second hand The War in Space for ¥1000, which was a bargain as new discs seem to be around the ¥6500 mark.
DeleteThat's the way to display HotWheels, not the usual blue card bin we get in our british shops
ReplyDeleteThat's Yodobashi Camera - seven floors of everything else, as well as cameras!
Deleteany sign of these Looey? https://petapixel.com/2025/04/14/nikons-vending-machine-mini-cameras-are-now-available-in-the-us/
DeleteAlways wanted to go to Japan Looey. Even my old Mum said she'd come with me back in the early 1970s when I wanted to be a zen monk! Enjoy your stay. Looks incredible. Keep an eye out for Triang sPaceX and Japanese Project SWORD toys!
ReplyDeleteAs Rorscharch would say,
Delete"Joking of course"?
Have fun, although I am sure you are already doing that.
ReplyDeleteFor sure, Paul! I thought if you the moment I saw the first HW display and the Japanese subjects like the SPV and Kickaider's motorcycle were really mindboggling!
DeleteEnjoy your days in Japan, my dream destination too. Many great finds!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Arto!
DeleteWith America off the Must See list, Japan is just brilliant!
