Finally I'm pleased to present our finished custom Lincoln Monsters Victim figure.
The dressed doll and the card have been ready for a while.
The delay was in finding the best blister for the card, a Lidl macaron box.
The superb card art was by Wotan Bill.
The brilliant tailoring was by Franzi E.
The sourcing of the doll, cloth and blister and final assembly by Woodsy
The Moonbase International Victim. Hope its been worth the wait.
How are you fastening your doll inside the blister? I remember the white cotton thread of 1960s Action Man packs. Today transparent plastic elastic bands seem to be in vogue, but I've never seen those available generally.
ReplyDeleteI'm making small holes behind top and bottom parts, inserting a small rubber band and sticking it down at the rear with sellotape. The two bands on this figure fasten down the log hair and just above one ankle, so they're hidden Looey.
DeleteAs impressive a re-creation as this is ( and it really is), no more for me guys. 'The Victim' is a product of the time, and that's fine for then.
ReplyDeleteBut maybe not for now.
My son, who is 23, says "Move on Dad" and I have to agree.
Of course, Countess Dracula and the Bride of Frankenstien are just fine. Fiesty women in their own right, much to be respected.
I know what you mean Mish. The project was a collaborative experiment in re-creating a very rare toy on a shoestring and I think we achieved that., much in the same way that Lincoln/ Speigel did back in the 1970's, when they threw together this doll in a hurry for a catalogue shoot. The project's completed now.
DeleteSorry, that came through twice.
ReplyDeleteMy bad.
I deleted one Mish.
DeleteAnother beautiful recreation of a toy, and now in its own packaging. A thing of beauty.
ReplyDeleteThanks a lot Paul,
DeleteLovely! I kinda liked Bill's earlier cheeky suggestion for the text on the card, but this is great as well.
ReplyDeleteThanks Arto. One rarity for a tenth of the price!
