All good shots Scoop, despite the worse light conditions this year, but that twin Black Cat shot's a loo loo !
ReplyDeleteFantastic.
Cheers Mish. Yes, the grey , overcast sky drains any colour, and with the speed of some of the jets there's not much time to mess with the camera settings, but at least it didn't rain. As always it was a good turn out, and the event programme went fairly smoothly.
DeleteSensational photographs! Seeing a Bristol Blenheim in flight - wow! SFZ
ReplyDeleteThanks Zigg. The story behind this Blenheim is quite unique, it that after the war a Bristol worker called Ralph Nelson was given permission to buy the nose which he converted to an electric car, which he drove for several years. After the vehicle suffered irreparable damage, Ralph donated the car to the Duxford restoration project in 1992. The Blenheim was extensively restored, and to this day the reattached front still has the tax disc in the window as a legacy to Ralph.
DeleteGreat shots, Scoop! It reminds me of a visit to the Temora Airshow in rural NSW (next to the RAAF base) about 15 years ago. My photographs were nowhere near a good. But I still remember the highlight of the day, a dual flypast of a Spitfire and a Comet. The jet was just above stall speed, while the piston engined Spit was flat out!
ReplyDeleteThanks Lewis. Wow, that's cool, seeing a flying Comet must have been awesome. We had a flying Nimrod on display a few years ago at Southport , but I've only seen a static Comet in the aircraft museum at Cosford.
DeleteFab photography Scoop! those flying machines looks amazing in the superb coastal light right on your doorstep.
ReplyDeleteCheers Woodsy. Very occasionally during the week before the show we get a plane flying fairly low over my house on their way to the nearby RAF base.
DeleteBeautiful shots Scoop! I think there's supposed to be an air show this year at Nellis but I probably won't make it. The walking is getting harder to manage and the Nellis flight line is huge!
