Heard of the the monster boar movie Razorback?
I have this old thing hanging above a doorway.
It's the head from the full size Stunt Pig! Uh, I mean Boar -we were never allowed to refer to it as a pig!
It was a sort of a Pantomime horse costume, with wheels on the stiff rear legs, used when the Hero pig (operated by 10 people) was too cumbersome or in use elsewhere.
I actually got to perform in this suit one time, when the Stunt operator was unavailable because of his 10 hour turnaround. I climbed into the suit then it started to rain, so I just pulled my legs up inside, they threw a tarp over me and I just laid back and read a book until the sun came out.
Then they wired me up with bullet hits and when you see the pig through Bill Kerr's telescopic sight, that's actually we dancing around!
Oh, Cowboy Days, I tell ya -we'd never be allowed to do that kind of guerilla film making nowadays!
By the way, do you like The Deluge carnival sign painted on our bathroom door? Just me getting artistic there!
Hmmm, I think that pig - ah, I mean Boar, needs dusting!
Cheers,
Looey

Ooer! That's the Mutant Monster from Sons of Steel, too -but that's another story!
Nice props and artwork Looey.
ReplyDeleteAmazing. This flick found its way to me through our local Video Rental Store and has been a fave ever since. The 200 pound porkers that my grandfather raised were mean tempered and plenty scary enough, but to imagine one the size of a Rhino really gave me the creeps.Impressive you had a hand in making this movie!
ReplyDeleteCool!
ReplyDeleteI just saw this:

A visit to your house must be an experience, especially for a first timer. Impressive monsters.
ReplyDeleteAmazing that you worked on this Looey! Your house is like the Ackermansion!
ReplyDeleteLove “The Deluge!” SFZ
ReplyDeleteGreat memories Looey - I remember going to see Razorback with my girlfriend at the drive-in when it first came out back in the 80s. Great film and geniunely scary.
ReplyDeleteI also have fond memories of Razorback director Russell Mulcahy appearing on "Hey Hey It's Saturday" to promote the film - John Blackman doing "Miss Piggy" impressions and reducing Russell Mulcahy to tears of laughter - they don't do TV like that anymore....
