I've got the Imai. I too chopped off the friction drive wheel element. The nose is too fat, but otherwise it's OK. I guesse the Wave is the most accurate, but in truth, none of them have quite got it right. Don't like the Bandai at all.
Aoshima brought out a reissue of the Imai kit with a more accurate nose section. I've got one but I've yet to built it, Mish. The Wave is certainly the most accurate. It's only downside is the vinyl plastic It's made of which needs some work to get the shape right. The Bandai is small, and is a bit boxy, but it's really intended as a toy. I suppose it's difficult to get a perfectly accurate model as it depends which of the filming props it's based on.
