ReplyDeleteI've never heard a Prog Rock album in my life, and have no knowledge of the genre at all.
I wasn't into pop until the New Romantics.
ha ha, I know what you mean Mish. My musical journey sputtered and ended in the late 90's with discovering Grunge. After that I'm an ignoramus. As it happens I like post-punk a lot like New Wave and Indie. I'd have the New Romantics back in a flash compared to today's dross. Who were your faves?
DeleteUltravox and Gary Numan.
ReplyDeleteI like them too Mish. I remember being blown away by the Tube Way Army's Are Friends Electric when they [he] were on the Old Grey Whistle Test in the Seventies. Such an iconically futuristic keyboard riff. Cars was great too. As for UV, I've always loved Vienna. The music was fabulous. Midge was a great singer and the video was ace.
DeleteGary Kemp of Spandau Ballet fame is a massive prog fan and plays in Nick Mason's Saucerful of Secrets, who I will be seeing play live in May.
ReplyDeleteI think my Bruv is going to see them in York soon too. Great name, from the early LP title isn't it Dave?
DeleteYep
