The previous snowfall had me cooped up for the weekend, so I decided to build a model kit.
Here's Dr Deadly, an Aurora Monster Scenes character re-issued by Moebius. My usual disclaimer; I am not a professional modeler nor do I claim to be.
These kits were around when I was a kid, but painting them was a little beyond my capabilities.
I am thrilled that I have the chance to try them again with a grown up perspective. I have already built the good(?) doctor's creation, the Giant Insect.
Here they are, together at last!-

Nice builds, although I am not sure I would want to meet either for real. It is good to see so many of these older kits being re-issued.
ReplyDeleteThanks Paul. I recently saw the Aurora Godzilla and King Kong Glow kits are re issued by a company called Atlantis.Thoe I would like to build without paint, just the glow parts. They would look good next to my Glow Gorgo.
DeleteI agree with Paul, lovely builds Brian. These old kits are time tunnels to our golden childhoods when monsters ruled the Earth! Looking at the box art it looks like Doc Deadly is sharpening a sword. Is that right? And what is that mad looking rabbit! ha ha, Roger Deadly! Thanks for posting and hope the snow has melted.
ReplyDeleteThe only accessory in the kit was a surgical mask(which is required in mad scientist laboratories to reduce Covid risk ;p)A collectibles shop nearby has the "gruesome goodies" kit with lab equipment.Hopefully soon Ill snatch it up.And yes,the weather is very nice for February right now.
DeleteYou've done a great job there, Brian.
ReplyDeleteThanks,Tony.Winter isn't Winter without at least one good model building sesh.Hopefully more to come.
