A few snaps of collectables I saw for sale in Alnwick this weekend as we holidayed in the northern stronghold.
What would you have got?
Lots of old kids' annuals at the famous Barter Books, one of the biggest second hand bookshops in the UK.
This is one of many cabinets full.
This old book cover caught my eye. Is that a toy tank? Also Barter Books.
In the town's charity shops Harry Potter was evident with these hardbacks at £10 a throw. Harry Potter's first two films were on location in Alnwick Castle.
This blue and purple robot seemed to have a hefty price tag at £60. What is it?
No idea what this is. At £5 in a charity shop too I let it slide.
Some photography gear too in the second hand cabinets.
More to come on Northumbria over the next few days.
I think the purple dude is Machine Man from X Men. The other robot is Power Rangers, did well to avoid that!
ReplyDeleteCheers Wote.
DeleteCamera tackle is mostly outmoded digital stuff, but the lenses look ok price wise.
ReplyDeleteThere were lots. Unusual for a charity shop.
DeleteHes a 'Sentinel' figure, rather than MM. https://www.reddit.com/r/Marvel/comments/1ke17e/marvel_sentinels_collection_description_in/
ReplyDeleteIts a Funland Robot Wote. I wonder who came first? Sentinel or Funland?
Deletetheyve obviously done their homework

ReplyDeleteWoodsy, clearly you found a civilized bookshop in that Toby Twirl is in with the Annuals.
ReplyDeleteLots of brilliant and unusual annuals at Barters Terran. Lots of copies of Circus Boy too, although I don't know the show.
DeleteI think the robot is a Scooby Doo villain
ReplyDeleteYour'e right Brian! Thanks! Sorry Wote! Its Charlie the Funland Robot from Scooby Do!
DeleteWay over priced for that Charlie. The large black and silver figure in the pic under it is the Power Ranger Dragonzord. It appears to be missing the tail and handle for the drill sword. i believe this is the original release.
ReplyDeleteIt had its tail Lance but not sure about the handle. I wish I'd have had a punt now and got it for the £5 asking price. I've just picked up 2 1993 Power Rangers figures for £1 for the two. Missing thier pistols sadly.
