Hey Woodsy,
Happy New Year! Working on 1:6 scifi subjects to sell on my new website still in development.
This one is "moon" related. And every kid that had a Major Matt Mason will recognize it. Its the 1962 Moonsuit featured in Life Magazine.
The pictures are of the raw 1:6 scale, 3d printed suit.
I am developing an astronaut figure and support stand to go with it. It will also be painted, decaled, and will have running and beacon lights.
I included a pic of the patch the astros will have on their jumpsuits as this predated Apollo.
More to come as I am doing numerous SciFi Spacemen snd villians from Serials and films of the 1950s.
Last picture has another raw unfinished vehicle (Space taxi) with a spaceman in it. While the spaceman is not in the correct Space suit (still finishing the correct one up) used in the film. What film was the Space Taxi seen in??
Space Sled was from "Conquest of Space".
Pics attached. Spacesuit from that film is in build.
Bob
Hollywood SciFi collector Bob Burns has been helping me with reference material from these old films - see pic below.
Nice work, I've always admired this suit. My Matt Mason astronauts had one, but sadly the rubber bellows arms perished within a decade or so...
ReplyDeleteIt does look good doesnt it Looey. Do you think 3D printing will take over from classic model making in the future? I adored my MMM space suit too. The MMM universe was so detailed it was a whole world to play in.
DeleteThat hardsuit looks wonderful! Such nice details inside as well. My only concern would b the antennae on top could be a weak spot and easily snapped off. Quick fix a what I'd probably o if I ha one would be to replace them with actual wires.
ReplyDeleteI agree Lance, its superb. Check out Bob's site, link above below his name. He's created some amazing spacemen figures with the help of schlock guru Bob Burns! I even have his book, the Basement.
