Looking at these dolls house utensils I saw online I was totally reminded of those classic little tools that came with Major Matt Mason toys in the Sixties: the camera, the binoculars, the spanner and so on.
Mot sure what the Major would have cooked or for whom? You?
They were so fiddly, the Major's own Mattensils. I simply can't recall if those space tools actually fitted in the Major's hands. Do you?
I seem to recall that Captain Action had similar tools. Was their an astronaut set?

Major Matt's rubber hands were pretty good at grasping most of these gadgets. I remember losing his space screwdriver as a kid and never EVER finding it again! I still suffer ongoing trauma every time I drop something fiddly!
ReplyDeleteSo he did have gripping hands did he Lewis? I just couldn't recall! Those tools were darn tiny and I imagine most of them went awol! Just where do missing toys end up? Small bits fall on the floor from my workbench and simply vanish! But how?
DeleteMatt didn't have gripping hands but the mostly closed hand and grippingness of the rubber against the hard chromed plastic provided just enough friction for them to sit but if you moved Matt, odds are whatever was in his flimsy grasp would fall out.
DeleteThe exception being the large mostly black with red tip gun under the yellow water tanks, that was too front heavy to stay held.
Thanks Lance. You have a great memory. I just can't recall Matt's hands!
DeleteThat happens to me too! It's a mystery. I once lost a tiny piece off K9 and found it 2 years later, still lodged in his bumper and he'd been in several displays in all that time!
