Hi Woodsy
My plans for world domination have veered from their laser-sharp positioning, although they're all still headed in the same general direction.
My planned puppet fillum ( "As if Gerry Anderson and Benny Hill decided to make a home movie..." ) features my own character, an Ancient Egyptian dwarf who gets lost in another dimension and has an adventure aboard an inter-dimensional space craft crewed by zombie sloths!
But even though the central characters are not average humans, I still require Captain Scarlet quality rod puppets and I'm working through the technicalities of achieving that.
My 2001 astronaut was the first proof of concept and I'm currently working out how to make convincing 1/3 scale wigs (at this point using my own hair trimmings!)
They're supposed to be Heywood Floyd and Rolf Halvorsen and while still not perfect, inside their space helmets they should look fine!
- Which means once I get two finished Clavius Base figures, I can proceed with one of my other interesting side projects -a 3D lenticular lobby card, like the ones I can never afford!
However, the main derailing of this noble plan is my meeting with toy collectors who have inspired me to try my hand at making my own Soft Vinyl Toys -like those old 60's style godzillas.
I'm cataloguing my two steps forward, one step back progress on my Instagram feed https://www.instagram.com/lewispmorley
Here is a work in progress pic of my Ancient Egyptian dwarf heroine, in a NASA moon suit (to commemorate Apollo 11)
- she kinda looks like Billy Blastoff, but a bit sexier!
Thanks as always for a GREAT blog!
Lewis
