I noticed more than ever the amount of old die-cast around. As I always do, I looked for redlines but as usual there weren't any to be found.
Lots of Matchbox, Superfast and modern Hot Wheels but redlines seem to be long gone. Is this your experience?
The last ones I found at a sale were a Prowler and Baja Buggy ages ago. Both damaged.
Secondly I noticed what I think must have been a warehouse find. There were two large cases of boxed 1990's Sindy. There must have been 25 to 30 boxed figures in each large case.
The Sindy was the Sindy Skateboarder. It was great to see. I would love to come across a warehouse find, probably like all toy collectors! I didn't buy one but here's an example I saw online.
Another nice thing I saw was a line-up of loads of loose die-cast miniature Batmobiles from different years. The oldest was the Corgi Juniors Batmobile - the first collectable I ever bought as an adult circa 1990 (mail order grom TV Toyzone) - and next to it was the slightly larger and similar modern Hot Wheels version. There were also smaller and modern Bandai Batmobiles, which I'd not seen before. It was a nice display from the seller and I appreciated the effort he'd made.
Another Bat vehicle I wasn't familiar with was the Corgi Batmarine, a sort of metallic blue comic Batjet.
Good friend and fellow blogger Ed Berg photographs toys like no-one else so you can see the Batmarine best on his blog.
Handling the Batmarine I immediately noticed how similar the engine nacelles are to the Spacex Hawk. See what you think. Here's Ed's fab picture of the Batmarine on his wonderful site Toyconnect:
And here's good friend and fellow Spacex fan Paul V's shot of the Hawk's rear on his amazing Spacex toys website:
What observations have you made of late at sales and fleamarkets readers?
Redlines? Warehouse finds? Batmobiles?
