I recently found a load of old loose cars and trucks in the attic. Nothing too exciting. Some of it was donated to the growing die-cast fleet of Moonbase Junior. He's shaping up to be a first rate space mechanic!
Anyways here are a few of them. No
idea of the brands. You?
idea of the brands. You?
A sort of Jeep or Pick-up style plastic car body.
It may have been detachable by design as I don't have the chassis.
A plastic space tank ATV which I also had an example of back in the 1990's
Two unknown die-casts. The white on lifts up on a third smaller wheel wheelie style
A plastic pull-back with a long flexible pipe connecting the two parts.
Your plastic space tank ATV is a mosh of sources. The front half is a copy of the cockpit portion of the Macross SD Valkyrie toy. The cockpit bubble is missing, probably to make a seat area (based on empty slot behind the large opening in your picture which probably was an attachment point for a windshield bubble that opened and closed) and not try to duplicate the rotating cockpit of the original. Here is the Maximilian Jenius version in flight mode http://www.macrossworld.com/macross/toys/jokemax2.1.jpg but the cockpit is rotated tot he shield side for when it is actually in battroid mode. Here are the Max and Fokker versions in battroid form but with the cockpits in flight mode revealing the interior https://www.picclickimg.com/d/w1600/pict/292538181740_/Robotech-Bandai-1984-SD-Macross-Valkyrie-Veritech-Figure.jpg
ReplyDeleteThat's amazing Lance. You're a toy detective. So many fine connections. I may have to do a full post on it showing your findings. As far as I know the toy itself is a Multimac or Silverlit toy. Not sure of its name. Bill may know.
DeleteI think its probably Multimac, but the actual series of toys appeared long before the Multimac name was applied, usually marketed as more general stuff such as 'Galaxy Defender' or 'Space Attack' etc. Its probably a Hong Kong company, contemporary with the big wave of Macross toys that appeared in the late 80's, so Macross would be fair game for the toy plundering copyists. If a toy sels at all well, you can guarantee it will spawn bootleg copies.
DeleteIf I was a knockoff toy agent I would be called Spawn Bootleg and my calling card would say Toy Plundering Copyist! ha ha. Great lines Bill.
