This edition features a small model of Thunderbird S.
The comic is the usual fare of pin-ups, pictures to paint and puzzles to please the kiddies, plus another screengrab comic strip, this time it's the Lights Out episode.
Another little feature is a how to make a Thunderbird Shadow launch pad out of a cheese carton and some clothes pegs. Something for the Dads' to help Junior with.
Unfortunately it will probably be the last TAG comic most big kids like me will purchase as the Thunderbird S model is the last. The next issue is giving away a John Tracy dog tag, tattoos and more stickers which I'm sure will suit the children who'll no doubt continue to get mum to buy the comic.
I think, like most people I was expecting the next issue to feature a model of FAB 1. I wonder if publisher D.C. Thompson are holding back on the models until the next new series of TAG starts.
Last issue for me too. The models have been small but really great. The tiny 10cm long TB-Shadow in this issue is ironically far more accurate than Vivid's 15cm toy version. Would have loved it to be twice that size. Shame that they couldn't have continued with toys of FAB1, the Hood's ship and the various pod vehicles. It'll be interesting to see how the magazine does from now on. On the plus side I'm anxioously waiting for Takara's TB-Shadow kit from Japan. That's an awesome 28.5 cm long and looks pretty accurate. It'll take pride of place in my TB Are Go collection.
ReplyDeleteI was amazed to see two copies of this comic in my local Co-op tonight! Alas, I wasn't tempted so I left them for true TAG fans.
