It never ceases to amaze me what can turn up and this is no exception - a Japanese moon board game from the 1960's, which was heavily influenced by Ed Valigursky's artwork [shown below], the same artwork that influenced Project SWORD and SpaceX toys in the late Sixties.
I can see a MEV2 in there and maybe even an ANT and an MLP. And that astronaut waving on the cover looks a lot like his LP plastic doppelganger! In Ed Valigursky's moon base illustration the astronaut has his arms down. The waving spaceman is more reminiscent of the red and white image found in the Century 21 Project SWORD Manual showing the proposed Moon Base set, which includes an LP astronaut with raised arm [see bottom picture]
Does anyone know the maker of the game or have you got one even?
wow, thats gorgeous! well spotted!
