Social media certainly has it's detractors, myself amongst them, but there are benefits to the crowd sourced information. I follow a couple of local history sites, in an effort to locate a photograph of my old house in Liverpool. One page has daily updates of photos culled from the local record office and the professional and the comprehensive owner of the page invariably manages to post something of interest, almost every day.
--- this is the very mobile shop in which I first discovered the Spacex knock off range of Apollo Spacers, made by an obscure company called Linda. (See Paul V's excellent Spacex resource for full details)
The lower photo with the big grey truck was originally identified as being the van that I recalled, but the new photo at the head of the page is almost certainly the very mobile shop that I visited, as it is a bit smaller and has the same layout of shelves in the back. The owner had clearly seen a gap in the market, as the town planners had neglected to put any shops near to the new accommodation blocks, so he made a killing with a range of sweets and groceries and small rack toys to keep the kids happy!
Now if only we had a higher resolution copy, as the toys were just tucked inside the doorway on the right side!
