Now and then Mini Capitan Boy rises to the top of Moonbase and here's the little fella again.
These pics I've borrowed from an auction site in South America, from where Mini hails.
The battery is very useful for scale and you can see just how small this little version of Billy Blastoff really is from Lily Ledy.
For more about this tiny toy then check out the labels at the bottom and also the excellent section about it on Paul V's SpaceX Toys website, also in the labels.
Blog reader and friend Bill Everatt flagged this up.
Its the full TV theme from Thunderbirds in Japanese courtesy of You Tube!
It was released as a single too and the cover and sleeve pictures are fabulous, especially of the Zero-X! Here's part of the inside courtesy of Discogs. It looks like a small comic.
Bill sent me the link to Discogs, a record sales and reference site, where you can see all the record sleeve pictures. Here it is..
Here are the Munsters model photos I promised. The 1:64 scale Johnny Lightning models came out in 1999 as part of the Fright'ning Lighting series, a mix of Star Cars and Show Rods, all with a spooky theme. These came out in two batches. I do have some of these somewhere, but not the entire range. I think this includes one of the Munsters cars, but not sure which one.
I got this pair just a few months ago from a model shop which is a bit hard to get to as I do not have a car, so I do not get out there very often, but they do have a good selection. Neither the front nor back of the cards mention The Munsters, just George Barris. Both cards say 'New for 2017'. This issue of the Koach does not have the crest on the doors, although previous versions did.
The AMT 1:25 scale Munsters kits both appeared in 1964, and have been reissued a few times since. This 'Graveyard Ghoul Duo' again omit any reference to The Munsters, but do carry the Barris name. As with the JL diecasts, the Munster Koach has been renamed the Barris Koach.
These photos show the AMT double kit. No idea who the creepy looking green fellow is meant to be - it certainly is not Grandpa!
There's something about lie-ins that are simply indescribably wonderful. Sundays is the perfect day for a lie-in. Its warm, snug and sleepy. What's not to like. And since Sunday is the traditional day for doing nothing it makes perfect sense! Do you enjoy a lie-in or are you up and about early on Sundays?
Can't recall though if I had a lie-in as a kid. Saturday had its morning TV like Danger Island, Shazan and the Banana Splits show so I can't see me dawdling in my pit too long. Then again going to school for five days was quite knackering so I will have needed my kip. Sundays I had to go to church. Sacred Heart for the morning mass. My Mum took me. Took us all. I think it was 11 am. I yawned my head off so maybe I didn't get much of a lie-in after all. Getting ready will have taken ages! And besides I don't think there was anything to watch on TV at all on Sundays in the UK in the Sixties.
In my adult stage I require coffee after a lie-in. Lots of freshly brewed coffee. Eggs, bacon and buttered toast go really well with it too! Do you drink coffee and enjoy a hot breakfast at the weekends readers? Or are you healthy and go for muesli and yoghurt and maybe a kale smoothie?
What do you remember about weekend mornings as a kid readers?
To get into the spirit of an old style Sixties and Seventies Weekend morning here's a couple of YT clips to start Sunday properly! Enjoy!
I like this design, the 1978 die-cast Star Zinger from Don Hakka Star Bood. It was made by Popy and marketed in Italy by a firm called Ceppi Ratti, who we've mentioned before. Do you collect anything like this readers? [pic courtesy of the Lulu Berlu sales site]
It has a hint of our friend the SpaceX Tractor T5 about it. Do you agree?
