-3 here at Moonbase. Frosty but no snow. The stars are out and Orion's Belt is like a clear dot to dot of a vast airliner.

SPIRIT OF AMERICA PLASTIC TOY CAR

I was amazed by this huge plastic car toy.

Its a Craig Breedlove Spirit of America toy on You Tube.

Has anyone ever seen one before?

CIPSA SCORPIO: ENEMIGO INTERGALACTICO

I always like seeing toys I had appearing in different parts of the world. Its good to know I had kindreds across the globe back in the Sixties and early Seventies.

Major Matt Mason was a major part of my life [ see what I did there ] but I never had a Scorpio. I think the Mason expedition to the planets had run out of fuel before my Mum and Dad could get a purple alien. Or maybe there weren't any Scorpio's in Preston, although Bill got one down the road in Liverpool!

Anyway, kids in Mexico had Scorpio's courtesy of Mexican toy importers CIPSA. Its fun to find CIPSA stuff on the net and see if there are differences to Mattel's originals. So, here's the CIPSA Scorpio from their Capitan Meteoro range, which I assume means Captain Meteor, a rather nifty name if you ask me!

MULTIPLE TOYMAKERS 1970 SPACE BASE

I've always liked the look of this Space Case by Multiple Toymakers.

I saw this on the Bay and kept the image ages ago.

Dated 1970 [what a year! I wuz 10], it mashes together everything we love: SpaceX, Apollo Moon Exploring and Thunderbirds! What's not to like!

The little orange space car is a cutie and is a mini version of a Billy Blastoff buggy.

Thunderbird 5 has become Space Station 6! You gotta love the nuances of toy knockoffoffery!

You get a whole load of little LP astronaut clones too! Are they SpaceX size I wonder?

GOOGLE+ IS UP THE SPOUT!

I've just been informed officially that Google+ has had it.

Due to a lack of interest in it by users Google are pulling the plug fully in April.

Before then signing in and commenting using Google + will end.

This is what Google say:

If you've used Google+ for comments on your own or other sites, this feature will be removed from Blogger by February 4th and other sites by March 7th. All your Google+ comments on all sites will be deleted starting April 2, 2019..

If you sign in to sites and apps using the Google+ Sign-in button, these buttons will stop working in the coming weeks but in some cases may be replaced by a Google Sign-in button. You'll still be able to sign in with your Google Account wherever you see Google Sign-in buttons

I don't use Google+ [but I am registered I think] and as far as I know the blog itself is not closely connected to it so it should be safe.

Blogger, the platform on which this blog sits, IS owned by Google though. so it always worries me when the titans of the internet start shifting and stretching. Small fry like blogs could easily get squished. We've seen it before with Yahoo, Orange and more.

Am I OK not to be worried readers by the demise of Google+?

WEIRD-OH TOY FRICTION MONSTROUS FISH PLANE

Last year I blogged about Frantics models.

Well I was amazed to see a plastic friction toy version of those mad creations:

The Monstrous Fish by LMR.

It was sold from Missouri on the Bay last year.

Anyone seen anything like it? Any more toys? Who are LMR?

The plane looks to be from the Weird-Oh's Freddie Flameout kit by Hawk, which amazingly is available as a brand new reissue on Amazon

The head appears to be the same as the left hand beatle from Steel Pluckers, part of the Weird-Oh Frantics range by Hawk. This built up set was sold on Worthpoint, where the image is from.

MYSTERY SHIPS

I saw these neat plastic spacecraft on the Bay recently.

They are a mystery to the lister and to me too.

Anyone recognise them?

The first Monkees Annual has lots of (c) notes for another company but the only (c) for Century 21 is on one page beneath an advert for 'Lady Penelope' Comic.

The Animals at the Zoo book one is (c) Century 21 Merchandising rather than Century 21 Publishing.

Topo Gigio The Little Country Cottage was originally published, in the same format, by Bonanza Books in 1965 and later Century 21 in 1967. The same could apply to At The Circus.
