Ha! Oh yeah, storage/display always an issue. Our second bedroom has been turned into my main model display room. Nomad is placed on a large perspex cube that is on the floor so he looks like he's hovering. He is floating next to the table that Orac sits on! I suspect they argue.

Thanks, main body is plywood clad in aluminium, the base is made from a plant pot holder and a plastic plate. The head came from a plant pot and a huge brewery funnel!
Heeey, I'm not with them. I'm not from Earth and I'm DEFINITELY not a biological unit.
ReplyDeleteSterilise imperfection!

ReplyDelete"V-ger, you are violating my copyright! ...Litigate Imitation!"
ReplyDeleteLovely work! Where do you keep all this stuff? (Rhetorical question, the same place I keep my stuff!)

ReplyDeleteAbsolutely amazing! What materials did you use to build it?

DeleteAmazing that you can just see a plant pot and think 'That would make a good part for a Nomad model ' . Great skills.
DeleteWorryingly, I'm always doing that sort of thing.
DeleteLovely work Kev - one of the most iconic Star Trek models ever. I'm surprised you haven't got it floating too! Bill
ReplyDeleteThanks, yep, nearest I could manage is to have him on a clear stand!
ReplyDeleteGood gosh, why aren’t you working in Hollywood?!?! Amazing! SFZ
ReplyDeleteThank you, most kind.
DeleteI actually know the guy who built V'ger. He works as a handyman now.
ReplyDeleteWow!
ReplyDeleteHave you got lathes and metal bending tools Kev?
ReplyDeleteNo, sadly not. Just basic tools. I usually make my stuff on the dining room table. Bit primitive really.
ReplyDeleteA particularly good copy there Kevin and a great use of the plant pot. Very well done.
ReplyDeleteThe cutlery tray on the set needs a bit more work though.
Thanks. That cutlery tray is my tribute to tvsf. It's iconic!
ReplyDeleteI remember seeing what looked like a refrigerator's radiator as some sort of wall decoration in Trek, so you're in good company.
ReplyDeleteGreat! Industrial heat exchanger panels were always popular amongst the alien races in Doctor Who.
