Yesterday me and the Missus moseyed over to Elsecar's Heritage village in South Yorkshire. Among the many local shop units there's a second-hand antiques emporium, which is jam-packed with goodies. Here's a few snaps of its tasty contents.
Is there anything you like readers?
First up, amazingly some Spacex!
in the bargain £2 tray outside
some nice globe money banks
A royal Landau, a new word on me.
The ubiquitous Pelham puppet
A sturdy Triang loco
A RRRumbler!
Corgi Juniors Batmobile
Boxer marionette
Tin fire chief car
Lovely blue tin saloon but I can't read that label.
A boxed Minister Delux
Car modelling spares
Scott. Not free!
Batman cards
Graded grains make finer flour! Remember these guys?
Assorted goodies
Big tin loco
More treats
Dolls
The Gooney Bird. A new one on me.
Just who is that dark figure lurking in the rear?
Kenner Palitoy Star Wars originals
Visionaires - they are bigger than I expected.
What a great cabinet all round
Just look at those action figures!
Its all too much!
Thundercats!
A bit of nostalgia. The cabinet spot I had ten years ago!
Lots of vintage kids' books
An orange plastic shoe caddy like the green one we had when I was a kid.
Space theme LP's
More die-cast
Old badges
Even more die-cast
and more
and yet more!
and my purchase, two die-cast Wigwam camper Vans. Totally new to me, lovely colours and just £4.
What a great selection. I don't think I've seen a Spacex toy in a shop since the early 70's. The boxer glove puppet I had one of (mine looked like Ali), there are spring loaded levers inside which activate his punches. The dark figure might be an advertising piece for Sandeman's Port?
ReplyDeleteThat Space Patrol was nice to see deffo but no landing gear Kev. £2 bargain for someone tho'. I have a few so I left it. Its only the second SpaceX I've seen in a junk/ charity/ antique shop, altho' the first was a mint carded Moon Prospector [or Explorer I think they're called] in Help the Aged about 20 years ago. I think I swapped it for something from Bill!
DeleteSandeman! Yes, of course! My Dad had one on his bar! Now I remember!
DeleteSome lovely vintage items. The sort of place I'd spend hours just wandering around, soaking up the nostalgia and looking for a nice piece to take home. I like the boxer puppet, Batman cards and clockwork robot. Another ace report and pics, Woodsy.
ReplyDeleteThanks Tone, its a great place to mosey round for sure and really quite big. The Missus is very patient with me but i could spend twice as long there as she can! ha ha
DeleteWhat an amazing place. Especially all the die-casts. I was thinking of Zorro for the dark figure - never heard of Sandeman.
ReplyDeleteIt is a fab antiques centre Paul. Die-cast heaven. I see what you mean about Zorro.
Deletelooks like a great place, so much variety. I remember the Sandemans adverts! Id have bought that spacex, just because!
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean but I have a few Space Patrols already. I'm watching the pennies!
